We absolutely love this time of year. Hart Park is green again, flowers are blooming, and the temperature outside is perfect. With Bakersfield heat quickly approaching, we are savoring this weather while we can. It was definitely a great day for portraits. Meeting Emily and Ryan for their maternity session was so magical. Their laughs and smiles made us feel like we had known them for a while. It was so fun for us to hear their story while we took photos of them together.

Emily and Ryan met online and have been together for over five years–you could say their first date at Eureka went well. When we asked Ryan what he noticed about Emily first that made him like her, he said she makes him feel funny. Cindy and I both quickly realized why he would say this. Emily has this beautiful smile when she laughs, and she is generous with those giggles. She is so conversational and has a way of making you feel heard and important. She laughs a lot, and it’s definitely an amazing quality she has. Her laugh is contagious for everyone around her.

Emily and Ryan currently have a labradoodle which had Cindy so giddy. We definitely talked dogs for a while when we found this bit of information out. We are so thankful we were able to meet such a wonderful couple. It’s so fun to photograph a real connection between two people and get to know them. I look at these photos and see future parents who are going to love their baby girl so much.
