The sun setting over the coast of San Simeon has to be one of my new favorite things in life. Between the cliffs, the ocean shore, the waves, and the sun rays, I was obsessed. There truly was no better place to take the Brock’s family photos this year. Their family has been visiting San Simeon for years for day trips or longer getaways. It’s such an easy drive from Bakersfield, and it’s definitely worth the time. I still can’t believe I had never been here before!

The first time I took photos for the Brock’s, I had just ventured out into business with my sister in law, Cindy, and we didn’t even have a website or blog yet. Because they were one of our very first clients, and Mark Brock is the pastor of Crossway Baptist here in Bakersfield where I go to church, they hold a special place in my heart. I just adore the Brocks all around. Their family has been here for me in business and in life, and I’m so thankful to know them!

Family photos are quickly becoming some of my very favorite to take, and when you see this session, I’m sure you’ll see why. Maybe it’s because I have a son myself, but seeing a family all together just warms my heart. The laughs, smiles, and endless wiggles from the smaller children get me every time. Adding in a sunset? Oof. This is what my photography dreams are made of.

To the Brock family, thank you will never be enough for all you’ve done for me. I hope you love your images as much as I do!
